BECOMING PART OF RA
Join Rubber Armstrong
Rubber Armstrong is a long-standing Burning Man camp built around contribution, reliability, and shared responsibility. We don't run on first-come-first-served, and we don't over-promise. This page explains how joining actually works.
Please read this page carefully before submitting your SOI.
How Joining Works
Joining Rubber Armstrong is a multi-stage process aligned with the Burning Man ticket cycle.
Stage 1: Statement of Intent (SOI)
The Statement of Intent is the first step.
- Takes around 5 minutes
- Collects basic contact details
- Covers high-level logistics and availability
- Helps us understand who you are, what you bring, and why you want to be part of the camp
This is not a full application and does not require you to have a ticket.
The SOI helps us build an early picture of interest and values alignment before ticketing settles.
Stage 2: Review Period
After submitting your SOI:
- Submissions are reviewed manually
- The review period typically takes 4–8 weeks from submission
- We personally review each submission
- Submitting an SOI does not guarantee a place
We look for people who show:
- Clear intent to contribute
- Realistic understanding of Burning Man
- Reliability, effort, and follow-through
- Alignment with how the camp operates
What to Expect:
- Review typically takes 4-8 weeks from submission
- If approved, you'll receive an email with next steps after major ticket sales conclude (typically mid-to-late March)
- If not approved, you may not receive a response (we receive many submissions and cannot respond to all)
- If you don't hear back by late March, assume we were unable to move forward with your application this year, but we appreciate your interest
- Approved applicants who miss the follow-up window may forfeit their spot
Timing and Tickets (Read This Carefully)
- The Statement of Intent form is open now.
- Ticket sales are run entirely by Burning Man and are separate from Rubber Armstrong.
- We do not sell tickets publicly and we cannot guarantee tickets.
- You do not need a Burning Man ticket to submit a Rubber Armstrong SOI.
- The formal "I Want to Join" intake opens after the major ticket windows have passed. For 2026 that means after the Main Sale (29 April).
Important Notes
- Submitting an SOI does not mean you are in the camp
- If approved, you will be invited to complete the Join form after major ticket sales conclude, provided you have secured a Burning Man ticket through any sale (DGS, Main Sale, OMG Sale, or resale)
- Approval does not guarantee camp placement if you cannot secure a ticket
- If you are looking for guaranteed tickets, plug-and-play camping, or low responsibility, this camp is not for you
